After the start of the special operation in Ukraine on demilitarisation and denazification, several rounds of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine took place. Initially, they were positioned as a mechanism for the prompt resolution of the crisis situation and they were considered (at least from the Russian side) as a real settlement tool capable of coming to an agreement acceptable to the both sides in a short time.
