The next five years promise to be full of challenges as Erdogan navigates a mix of domestic and foreign issues that, given Turkey’s unique geopolitical profile as a bridge between Europe, Asia and the Middle East, will have both regional and global impacts. This is especially true given the central role Turkey plays regarding Nato, relations with Russia, Middle East peace, energy security, and the transition to a more multipolar world.
