American exceptionalism has completely blocked the ability of the US to listen to any other point of view than the neocon narrative. For 70 yrs the US has been living in the illusion of its exceptionalism.. This has reinforced the vision of American hegemony to such an extent that no other path can be imagined. Internal political polarization leaves no space for the necessary critical thinking processes. The US will fail before it ever begins to adapt. Unfortunately, that will be far too late to avoid total isolation. The US will be left without friends, without an industry, without funding, faced with rampant inflation, buried in debt, facing internal chaos and with no credibility to build any form of trust.
